Car Insurance Isuzu (Car Insurance). Question about a feature on the Saturn Ion 2?Question about a feature on the Saturn Ion 2? In most cars, the driver's side door dings when opened when lights are left on or some other such error. However, in my Ion 2 (2006) my door dings EVERY time it opens. Consequently, I have managed to drain the battery twice by leaving my lights on. Is this a normal feature on the Saturn, or should I have mine looked at? I agree with the above. If you hear the dinging sound, it should be only reacting when there is an error. I would take it to a Saturn servicing dealer and get it checked out. I'm not sure if that's normal on a Saturn or not, but there is a door jam switch that causes that to happen. Remove it, that will stop the dinging when the switch is engaged The common cause of your Saturn's symptoms is the Key-in-Ignition switch being stuck in the in position. Takes a new lock cylinder to fix it. Auto parts : Brake Adjustment Tool Acura 1995 . Brake Bleeder Kit Alfa Romeo 1996 . Brake Bleeder Wrench Audi 1997 . Brake Hone BMW 1998 . Isuzu . How to Remove the Fuel Pump on a 2002 MalibuThe 2002 Malibu was the fifth generation of the model produced by Chevrolet. The wheelbase on these models was slightly larger than previous model years. The engines in these vehicles are all gasoline powered, with the gasoline being fed to the engine from a fuel pump located in the gas tank. You can remove the fuel pump on a 2002 Malibu for servicing or if you need to change the fuel filter. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Step by Step : 1 Relocate the 2002 Malibu to a spot where you can work on the vehicle. You will need plenty of room toward the rear of the Malibu in order to remove the fuel pump. Set the car in park. Turn off the engine. 2 Locate the fuse panel in the Malibu, which is located underneath the dashboard on the inside of the vehicle. On the inside of the panel there should be a diagram that will identify which fuse controls the fuel pump. Use the fuse puller included to remove this fuse. 3 Restart the Malibu. Run it until the engine dies. This will depressurize the fuel system. 4 Open the trunk. Remove the carpeting at the bottom of the trunk. You should be able to see two fuel lines going into the fuel pump. 5 Disconnect the fuel hose couplings on the fuel lines from the top of the pump. 6 Use the socket wrench to remove the bolts holding the fuel pump in place. Gently lift the fuel pump up and out of the tank. Tips & Warnings Always work in a well-ventilated area when working on any part of the fuel system and do not allow any open flames in the area. Wear the proper safety equipment, such as gloves and goggles, when doing automotive repair work. ResourcesChevy ForumsChevy Malibu Forums
Isuzu . How to Replace the Fuel Pump on a 2004 S-10 BlazerThe Chevrolet S-10 Blazer was a mid-size SUV manufactured from 1983 to 2005, with the last major redesign occurring in 1995. The 2004 Blazer had a 6-cylinder 4.3L engine with multi-port fuel injection requiring a high-pressure electric fuel pump. The procedure for replacing the fuel pump is the same in all versions of this vehicle. The fuel pump is part of the fuel-sending unit on the fuel tank, so you must remove the fuel tank in order to replace the fuel pump. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Socket wrench Fuel Pressure Gauge J 34730-1A Jack stands Spanner wrench Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery with a socket wrench. Install Fuel Pressure Gauge J 34730-1A to the fuel pressure connection on the fuel rail. Loosen the fill cap for the fuel tank, and open the valve on the fuel pressure gauge. Disconnect the fuel pressure gauge from the fuel pressure connection. 2 Drain the fuel tank and support it with jack stands. Remove the filler neck for the fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel tank shield and the retaining straps for the fuel tank. Detach the fuel lines and electrical connector from the fuel pump. Disconnect the fasteners for the fuel tank with a socket wrench and lower the fuel tank from the vehicle with the jack stands. 3 Turn the locking ring on the fuel tank counter-clockwise with a spanner wrench. Remove the locking ring and detach the fuel pump from the fuel-sending unit. Discard the O-ring that is on the fuel tank. 4 Install the new O-ring on the fuel tank and lower the fuel-sending unit into the fuel tank. Avoid damaging the fuel strainer as this can restrict fuel flow. Turn the locking ring clockwise with a spanner wrench. The cam-locking ring will lock into position under the locking tabs. 5 Connect the fuel tank to the vehicle and tighten the fasteners to 33 ft. lbs. with a torque wrench. Attach the fuel lines and electrical connector for the fuel pump. Fasten the restraining straps and shield for the fuel tank. Connect the filler neck for the fuel tank. Connect the cable to the battery's negative terminal. Start the engine check for fuel leaks. *If you find yourself faced with the job of changing a tire and you have nothing with which to block the wheels, park near the curb with the wheels turned in. This may not keep you from getting hurt if the car rolls off the jack, but at least innocent motorists and pedestrians won't have to deal with a runaway driverless car! Be sure that your gearshift is hi Park (or in First if you have a manual transmission) and that the emergency brake is on before you jack it up. The only time you don't want the emergency brake on is when you 118

In such a case, make sure that the front wheels are blocked securely, preferably with chocks designed for the purpose. (Chocks are available at a low cost at auto supply stores, and they stow neatly in the trunk.) 1 Q Part I: Getting Started. Once you've observed the safety precautions just listed, follow these steps: 1. If you're going to remove a wheel to change a tire or check your brakes, remove the hubcap (if there is one) and loosen the lug nuts before you jack up the car. Once the car is jacked up, the wheel will turn freely, which makes getting a hubcap off harder and makes starting the nuts almost impossible. Instructions for removing a hubcap and loosening lug nuts are in the next section, "How to Change a Tire." Isuzu . What is the warranty on a used car 15 days or what?
Dodge D250 Regular Cab. * 2. Place the jack under the part of the vehicle that it should contact when raised. If you are using jack stands, place them near the jack. Where you place your jack depends on whether you're planning to do a one-wheel job, such as tire changing or brake checking, or a two-wheel, whole-end repair job. To find out the proper place to position the jack for your particular vehicle, check your owner's manual. If you have no manual, ask the service department at your dealership to show you the proper place, or follow these rules: Never place the jack so that the weight of the vehicle rests on something that can bend, break, or give. If your manual is incomprehensible or lacks this kind of information, try to place the jack so that it touches either the car frame or the big bar that supports the front wheel suspension. You can also place jacks near the rear-wheel axle. Until you become more proficient at this, I'd stick to jacking up one wheel at a time. It may mean more work, but the practice is good for you. 3. lift the vehicle by using the jack. How you accomplish this depends on the type of jack you're using (see Figure 1-1): • If you have a hydraulic jack, place the handle into the appropriate location and pump up and down. Use nice, even strokes, taking the jack handle from its lowest to its highest point on each stroke to cut down on the labor involved. • If you have a tripod jack, turn the crank. Isuzu .
